The Tennessee Young Republican Federation, Inc. will hold a “YR Day on the Hill” on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 12th. State Senator Jim Bryson, also a newly-announced Republican candidate for Governor, is coordinating the entire event for the Tennessee Young Republicans!
The event will begin with lunch with the legislators around noon on the Capitol veranda followed by tours of the legislative plaza (and nearby). Early afternoon YRs will sit in the committee meetings of their choice, followed by attending legislative session. At the conclusion of the daily session, YRs will have a happy hour with Repulican legislators at Buffalo Billiards. Here is the detailed schedule:

The Tennessee Young Republican Federation will hold its annual rechartering meeting on Saturday, March 25th at 11 a.m. in the Tennessee State Senate chamber in Nashville. Each county YR club in Tennessee must renew its charter with the Tennessee YRs at the rechartering meeting each year. Each club must submit the following information to charter its club:
a copy of the club membership list (Excel sheet attached)- you can bring the list on disk or CD to the meeting to submit to TYRF Secretary Don Johnson
A copy of the club constitution/by-laws
A check for $3 per member for the # you are chartering (min. 10 required to charter)
Special guests will include Robin Smith, vice chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party (TRP), and David Laverton, 72-hour director for the TRP. They will let YRs know how YRs can most effectively help the TRP this key 2006 mid-term election year.
There will be a joint House/Senate Republican caucus reception following rechartering in the old library across the hall from the Senate chamber. There will be a number of key legislators present and will be very fun to attend!
Chairman Drew Daniel, National Committeeman Darrin Kirkus, Secretary Don Johnson, Paul Boyd, and Abby Braddock attended the YRNF Southern Region Board meeting in conjunction with the Southern Republican Leadership Conference. Representatives from southern state chapters as well as National Chairman Nicolee Ambrose and Vice Chair Tim Kolpien spoke at the meeting.
