4TH QUARTER BOARD MEETING TO BE HELD IN MURFREESBOROThe 4th quarter board meeting of the Tennessee Young Republican Federation, Inc. will be held on Saturday, November 18th at 10 a.m. at the Rutherford County court house in Murfreesboro. Ernest Burgess, the first Republican mayor ever elected in Rutherford County, will address the YRs. Items of business include the 2007 convention bid, convention committee appointments, action on the lieutenant governor, and events to hold for the 2007 year. Lunch will follow at the Bunganut Pig in Murfreesboro.
CLARKSVILLE YOUNG REPUBLICAN ELECTED TO CLARKSVILLE CITY COUNCIL!Deanna McLaughlin, vice-chairman of the Montgomery County Young Republicans, was elected to the Clarksville City Council, Ward 2 on Tuesday, November 7th. Deanna defeated Robert Nichols in the general election for the city council seat. Deanna has been very active with the Montgomery County Republican Party as well as the Young Republicans. She received financial support from the Tennessee Young Republicans, who are always very supportive of Young Republican candidates on the ballot. Young Republicans attended a pre-debate rally for Bob Corker and cheered him on hours before the debate started. Some YRs were able to attend the debate at Vanderbilt University, while most YRs watched the debate at a rally outside. On Sunday YRs campaigned with Bob Corker as he walked from tailgate party to tailgate party at the Tennessee Titans/Houston Texans game. Corker received enthusiastic support wherever he went, and having many YRs around him tremendously helped! Thanks to all Young Republicans who took a weekend of their valuable to help influence Tennessee elections!
