State Representative Brian Kelsey, a member of the Shelby County Young Republicans, was elected the House Republican floor leader in Republican caucus meetings earlier this week in Nashville. Kelsey is a past board member of the Shelby County YRs and was elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives in 2004. He has continued to help the Young Republicans after being elected to the House.
Tennessee Young Republicans are excited to see Brian elected to a high position of leadership in the House and make all of us proud!
The Young Republican National Federation (YRNF) will focus on Tennessee as part of its national campaign efforts on the last weekend of October (October 27-29). The YRNF will help send Young Republican volunteers from various surrounding states to Nashville (and the surrounding area) on that weekend. Â Various campaigns, including the Corker, Bryson, and other legislative campaigns need help that weekend. I encourage all Tennessee Young Republicans who are able to help volunteer for campaigns that weekend to help out with this effort! You can go to http://yrsignup.netgop.com to sign up to volunteer for this effort. More details will be made available each week!
Chairman Drew Daniel, National Committeeman Darrin Kirkus, Secretary Don Johnson, Paul Boyd, and Abby Braddock attended the YRNF Southern Region Board meeting in conjunction with the Southern Republican Leadership Conference. Representatives from southern state chapters as well as National Chairman Nicolee Ambrose and Vice Chair Tim Kolpien spoke at the meeting.
