Tonight, while typing out the agenda for tomorrow’s YR Re-chartering event at the Capitol in  Nashville, TN, I started getting excited and thought I would write and let you know that I am  looking forward to this event with much anticipation. I always find it encouraging to gather with  like-minded young people in an attempt to make a difference in our state and country. This year,  with Mr. David Fowler (www.factn.org) as our keynote speaker, and with updates from  representatives of various other organizations, Re-chartering promises to be an event you won’t  want to miss.

As an avid fan of college basketball, I have been monitoring the NCAA Tournament on television while making the final preparations for tomorrow. Whether my teams win or lose, I LOVE MARCH MADNESS! The competition is so great that I sometimes find myself compelled to watch games between teams that have no chance of winning it all, and yet, hoping against hope, they play their hearts out anyway. As I watch, I am constantly reminded that the greatest “competition” in our country this year isn’t a competition for a trophy at the end of a basketball season, but rather it is a battle for the heart and soul of America.

With the most important presidential election in our nation’s history just a little more than 6 months away, it is vitally important that young people of all walks of life open their eyes and realize that the future of our freedom is at stake. We cannot sit idly by and expect the “Blessings of Liberty” to continue to be ours. “Freedom isn’t Free!” We must passionately exercise our ability to keep it.

With this in mind, I encourage you to attend Re-chartering and bring some friends with you. The effort you put forth to be there will be worth it. I look forward to seeing you. Hopefully we will all be encouraged to lift the Torch of Freedom higher than it’s ever been lifted before. May God bless you, and may He ever continue to bless the United States of America!

Annual Rechartering Meeting

Each year, representatives of member clubs of the Tennessee Young Republican Federation attend the annual Re-chartering meeting to renew their charter for the year.  It is also an opportunity for newly formed clubs to officially become apart of the organization.  All YR’s from across the state are invited and encouraged to attend.
